Doubt I will ever capture something quite like this again! Managed to capture a selfie of me at work taking storm photos when a rather well placed bolt dropped in!I will explain!I’d set up the camera prior to a storm front moving in over Junabee East of Warwick. Some light rain had me quickly jump out of the Ute to check the lens was free of rain spots. I quickly wiped it and At that exact moment as i moved my hand away a massive bolt dropped approx 1km from where I was taking photos. The DSLR was too quick to capture the branching aspects of the bolt however the iPhone slo motion video did capture them from the windshield of my car. To be honest its hard enough to capture daytime bolts with the DSLR so I really did get lucky there.I will admit after checking that I had in fact captured the bolt, I scurried back to the relative safety of the Ute! Looking back at the video it was a huge bolt with multiple strikes. This is the first time I’ve published the original photo I only thought about it the other day and decided I need to publish it! So here it is along with the screen grab! Beautiful last light on a storm cloud and windmill!
